職場陷阱：講英文扮friend 要小心

用英文溝通，有時好難拿捏語氣同態度，明明想正正經經講，點知又比人誤以為想同佢扮friend；到想friendly 啲嘅時候，又比人覺得正經過頭。快啲睇吓以下幾個例子，學吓點樣做到恰到好處啦！

處境一：開會遲到

面對超熟嘅同事：Hey Tom, it’s Jerry here. I am going to be late for 15 or 20 mins. It’s a nightmare in the Cross-Harbor Tunnel. Wait for me yeah, see ya soon.

面對高層或不太熟嘅同事：Good afternoon, Mr Smith. Sorry I am late. I had a dentist appointment this morning and it took much longer than I'd expected.

處境二：同事升職

超熟嘅同事：No way dude! You got promoted? Oh wow, congratulations man! Let’s go celebrate!

不太熟嘅同事：I’m so pleased to hear about your promotion – what fantastic news! We should have a toast to your success!

處境三：同事生小朋友

超熟嘅同事：You must be so happy! I’m sure you’ll have many happy moments with your little angel – as well as sleepless nights – haha!

不太熟嘅同事：Congratulations and welcome to the world of parenthood! 

處境四：請病假

超熟嘅同事：Hey Judy, I’ve been feeling so ill since last night. I guess I’m going to have to take today off.

面對上司：Good Morning, I’ve not been feeling well since last night. I would therefore request you to please grant me sick leave. Thank you!

處境五：給予意見

超熟嘅同事：How/What about...? / Why don’t you...? / Maybe you can try…

面對高層或不太熟嘅同事: In my opinion...... / From my point of view……/ Personally, I think …
